That’s why I’ve scoured the neighborhood to find the best happy hour deals whether you’re looking to unwind after work or catch up with friends over a few drinks. I’ve rounded up the best happy hours in the West Village that are perfect for your next outing.
Let’s dive in and explore where you’ll be sipping next!
7 Best West Village Happy Hour Spots
1. Roey’s
Happy Hour: 4-6pm Monday-Friday
Wine and pizza happy hour? This one is too good to pass up. Head to Roey’s, a charming pizza spot and wine bar, and enjoy $7 Neapolitan pizzas, $4 beer, $5 spritz, or $6 wine.
2. Jeffrey’s Grocery
Happy Hour: 3:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday
Calling all of my oyster friends – Jeffrey’s Grocery does $1.50 oyster happy hour on weekday afternoons.
To be honest, I felt a little bit squirmish at the thought of a seafood happy hour but my friends reassured me that this restaurant is well known for their fresh, top-quality seafood. They were right, this is hidden gem is now a happy hour favorite that I love bringing others to.
3. Stafili
Happy Hour: 3-7pm Daily
Aesthetics are important to me which is why I love to go Stafili, a cozy dark-wooded wine bar with window seats, perfect for people-watching. In the summertime, I love to snag a sidewalk table and read a book. Choose from a red, white, or rosé wine for $7.
4. Bobo
Happy Hour: 5-7pm Daily, 10pm-12am Friday and Saturday
If you’re looking for a cozy happy hour spot, Bobo is the place to go. The French restaurant is located in a West Village townhouse, and you’ll find a daily happy hour in the charming den.
Swing by between 5-7pm for $8 wines and $10 cocktails. Or visit on Friday or Saturday between 10pm-12am for some post-dinner $14 martinis.
5. Dante
Happy Hour: 3-5pm Daily
Dante has made multiple appearances in the World’s 50 Best Bars list and even claimed the #1 spot in 2019. They’re famous for their martini which you can try at the $10 martini happy hour. There are 6 options including a trusty classic, a dirty martini, and a martini with a twist.
If martinis aren’t your thing, head to Dante’s sister restaurant just a short walk away, Caffe Dante, for $10 negronis.
I promise you won’t be disappointed!
6. Vin Sur Vingt
Happy Hour: Daily
I love Parisian wine culture – sitting at a small table on the sidewalk, surrounded by people, everyone drinking wine. This French wine bar always reminds me of that!
Visit Vin Sur Vingt’s happy hour and enjoy a $10 glass of wine until 6pm daily or get 25% off on any bottle of wine from 10pm to close.
7. The Happiest Hour
Happy Hour: 5-7pm Monday-Friday
Burger and fries or wine? You don’t have to choose at The Happiest Hour, where they serve this iconic happy hour trio for $22. Talk about a deal! This would be a great after-work meet-up with your friends that doesn’t break the bank.
8. Empellon
Happy Hour: 5-7pm Daily, all day Sunday
I’m always down for a happy hour that includes food and Empellon never disappoints. On the menu, you’ll find $6 tacos (brussels sprouts, fish tempura, chicken, or shrimp), $12 nachos, and of course, $10 margaritas. This spot is great because it’s in a prime people-watching corner of the West Village and they run their happy hour all day on Sunday (5-7pm on all other days).
9. Cowgirl
Happy Hour: 11:30am – 6pm Daily
Cowgirl is a long-standing West Village spot, serving up Tex-Mex food and charming us with their over-the-top decor for over 30 years. This casual neighborhood spot is where you’ll find many locals hanging out. Sex and the City fans might even remember a Cowgirl appearance from the episode where Carrie and Miranda spot Aidan and Steve with their new girlfriends.
Visit between 11:30 and 6pm to enjoy half-off frozen margaritas or $4 draft beers.
That concludes this list of the best West Village happy hour spots.
Now, it’s time to plan your next outing and enjoy NYC’s happy hour magic!
